Project Overview:

The Construction of the MultiTrade Institute (MTI) in Samangan was a strategically important project designed to enhance vocational and technical education infrastructure in northern Afghanistan. Funded by KfW Germany and implemented under the supervision of PEM Consult on behalf of the Ministry of Education (DMTVET), the project aimed to provide a modern, fully equipped institute capable of delivering a wide range of technical and vocational training programs.

As Prime Contractor, our company was responsible for the full execution of civil works, structural engineering, and the provision of necessary facilities and equipment, ensuring that all work was completed in accordance with international standards and seismic safety regulations.


Scope of Work:

The project included the construction of three major buildings and several ancillary structures across the institute’s campus:

  • Two-Floor Administrative and Laboratory Building

    • Ground Floor: Administrative offices

    • First Floor: Laboratories and technical workshops

  • Three-Floor Academic Building

    • Floors 1–3: 28 classrooms

    • Third Floor: Multipurpose hall for events and training activities

  • Single-Story Ancillary Buildings:

    • Automotive workshop

    • Male and female toilet facilities

    • Technical service unit

    • Guard house

    • Water tower


Design & Technical Specifications:

All buildings were constructed with modern design principles and resilience in mind. Key specifications included:

  • Earthquake-resistant structural design

  • Reinforced concrete (RFC) skeleton structure

  • Roofing system: Profile steel sub-structure with 7° sloped trapezoidal sandwich panels

  • Openings: High-quality PVC windows and steel doors
