Project Overview
The Bagram to Jabal Saraj Road Construction Project is a strategically important infrastructure development aimed at enhancing regional mobility, improving road safety, and supporting economic activity between Bagram and Jabal Saraj. The project covers the construction and upgrading of a 25.6-kilometer roadway, designed in accordance with national road and highway engineering standards to ensure durability, safety, and long-term performance.
This corridor plays a vital role in connecting communities, facilitating trade, and improving access to essential services. The project reflects our company’s capacity to deliver complex road infrastructure under challenging conditions while maintaining technical excellence and operational resilience.
Project History and Continuity
Construction activities commenced in January 2019 and advanced consistently, achieving approximately 82% completion by August 2021. During this phase, major earthworks, base layers, and structural components were successfully executed in compliance with approved specifications.
Following an extended project suspension due to external circumstances, construction activities remained on hold until December 2025. In January 2026, the project was officially recontracted with the Ministry of Public Works, allowing for a structured resumption of works. A comprehensive technical assessment was conducted to evaluate completed sections, identify required remedial works, and update the construction methodology to align with current standards.
Based on this reassessment, the remaining scope has been carefully planned and is now being executed under a revised schedule, with the project targeted for completion within one year.
Scope of Works
The project scope includes, but is not limited to:
-
Roadway earthworks and formation preparation
-
Construction of sub-base and base layers
-
Asphalt pavement works
-
Drainage systems and cross-culverts
-
Road safety elements including signage, markings, and protective measures
-
Quality testing and compliance verification
All works are being carried out using modern equipment, qualified technical staff, and proven construction methodologies.
Quality Assurance & Technical Standards
Quality is a core pillar of our project delivery approach. For this project, a robust Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) system has been implemented to ensure all materials, workmanship, and construction processes meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
Regular material testing, on-site inspections, and technical audits are conducted throughout each construction phase. Previously completed sections have been carefully reviewed to confirm their integrity and suitability for final integration. Where required, corrective measures are applied to ensure uniform quality across the entire 25.6 km corridor.
Health, Safety & Environmental Commitment
Health and safety remain a top priority throughout the project lifecycle. A comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management plan is actively enforced on site to protect workers, road users, and surrounding communities.
Safety measures include controlled traffic management, use of personal protective equipment, continuous safety training, and risk assessments for all critical activities. Environmental considerations, such as dust control, proper material handling, and site housekeeping, are also incorporated to minimize project impact.
Organizational Capability & Experience
Our successful continuation of this project demonstrates our technical capability, institutional experience, and operational reliability. The ability to resume and manage a partially completed project after a prolonged interruption highlights our strength in project evaluation, risk management, and execution planning.
With an experienced team of engineers, supervisors, and skilled workforce, supported by a strong equipment fleet, we are well-positioned to deliver the remaining works efficiently and to the highest standards.
Commitment to Timely Delivery
With construction now actively underway, the project is progressing in accordance with the approved schedule. Through effective coordination with the Ministry of Public Works and strict internal project controls, the Bagram to Jabal Saraj Road Construction Project is expected to be completed within the planned one-year timeframe, delivering a safe, durable, and high-quality roadway that will serve the region for decades.
