President Karzai Inaugurates New Presidential Guest House at the Presidential Palace

 Afghan President Hamid Karzai inaugurated a new presidential guest house during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace on Thursday morning.

The new building was supposed to be used by President Karzai after the end of his presidency. However, based on the guidance of the president, the building will be used as the presidential guest house instead.

“This beautiful building was constructed in accordance with the country’s constitution for the retired president; I was supposed to live here after my term,” the president said at the inauguration ceremony, adding that the building was appropriate for presidential guests because of its high standard of construction.

Moreover, the president praised Harirod Construction Company and the directorate of administration for the construction of the building.

The construction had started last year in June.
